GRANDMA AND THE PIGEON Once upon a time, there was a brilliant modern block of flats. And everyone who lived there was famous and successful. Athletes and models, scientists and singers, activists and bodybuilders. But there was also a grandma who was neither famous nor well-known – and certainly not successful. Every evening, she went up to the roof and fed her pigeon friend. One day, a young rapper arrived in town, moved into the flat next door to Grandma, and things began to happen. A story about a clash between generations and what one really good plum-jam bun can do. A fairy tale for children aged 6 and over that will make you want to ring your grandma afterwards.

DAMÚZA has been part of the theatre scene since 1999, when it was founded by students of the Department of Arts Management at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) to promote student work. Today, DAMÚZA is a producer and production organisation supporting unconventional theatre-makers and ambitious projects by DAMU students and recent graduates. Our work focuses on original productions, particularly puppet, visual and object theatre for children and adults. We give young artists at the start of their careers the opportunity to develop their own theatre projects and gain professional experience. We also offer professional artists the chance to create independently outside permanent theatre institutions, with the creative freedom and space to experiment and fulfil their artistic vision. DAMÚZA also organises three festivals: KUK, VyšeHrátky and Nekropolis.
