BUDULÍNEK

This well-known cautionary Czech fairy tale is given a somewhat ironic twist: the grandfather and grandmother who urge their grandson Budulínek to be obedient and cautious are old, hard-of-hearing rockers, and in the end their urgent lesson turns against them. The “wooden” people and animals are depicted with artistic elegance, while the grandparents’ puppeteers (Michaela and Filip Homola) show mastery of both their puppets and the music.
