KYTICE VOL. 2 Horror ballads based on the eponymous collection by Karel Jaromír Erben. Who suffers when everyone is dead? Who tells the stories we have left behind? Who will bring a bouquet to our grave when the soldier, cockerel and cart lie in the corner? This is the tragedy of those who have survived. Stories from the traditional ballads told in contrasting contemporary language are combined with the actors’ real-life stories. Theyshare their reflections on the imprint of Kytice in the present-day world. This stage adaptation of selected ballads, presented in a concise and playful way, aims to captivate and entertain young audience and make them understand the generally applicable ideas of Erben’s work.
JOHAN & PETR VYDARENÝ Tereza Vydarená and Petr Vydarený, a set designer and director, respectively, are the core members of the new group, who have invited actors from Pilsen and Prague to collaborate on their projects. The production was created as a collective endeavour, drawing inspiration from contemporary experiences and personal stories. Their shared objective is to reach out to teenagers in particular and show them that even curriculum books can be interesting. At the same time, the group follows on and further develops the original independent productions created at Moving Station.
