LOVE AND MONEY

Dennis Kelly

DLOUHÁ THEATRE, Prague, CZE
Direction
Jan Mikulášek

This cruel comedy by contemporary British author Dennis Kelly deals with love in its many forms. It consists of several stories which intertwine in a sophisticated way. The world of Kelly's play is full of confused and wounded people, pretending not terribly convincingly that everything is absolutely fine. The more doggedly they try to be normal, the madder they become. This production, by Jan Mikulášek, one of the best young Czech directors, makes effective use of microphones, video cameras and projections to create an impression of the world as a reality show from which there is no escape.
