The titular hero of the production is a mythical Czech superhero from the Second World War who, following the example of comic-book heros, used to bounce playfully down Prague streets thanks to the springs on his feet and defeat the fascist occupiers. The inspirational tale of Springman is not just playing with history, however. It is a real theatre spectacle, combining elements of martial arts and extreme sports with the poetry of auteur theatre and typical verbal humour.
