Transport: Breaking Point

TRANSPORT: TIPPING POINT is a production that strives to address current social and environmental issues and places the audience at the heart of a court case. In the dock sits a representative of one of the world’s largest energy corporations, accused of involvement in one of the gravest environmental disasters of our time. The explosion of an offshore oil platform lays bare the fragility of our systems, the unchecked power of fossil fuel giants, and the lethal entanglement of greed with systemic negligence. Transport: Tipping Point is more than a recounting of the largest environmental catastrophe in the U. S. – it is a reflection on a world where nature struggles to survive under the relentless logic of capital. The play poses urgent questions: Who bears responsibility for consequences that ripple across the globe? And what part do we play? How do our daily habits, our consumption, and our reliance on industrial systems contribute to enabling such disasters?

Tipping Point is part of Transport, the European project exploring the interconnectedness of today’s world. It challenges audiences to confront their own responsibility and inspires reflection on the steps we can take toward sustainable living. Each performance raises some fundamental questions and, taken together – whether as a series or as a puppet omnibus – they highlight the global nature of today’s problems.

TIN GRABNAR (1992) works at the intersection of performative and performing practices, especially as a renowned researcher and investigator of contemporary puppetry. In 2015, he graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Sebastijan Horvat. He has furthered his expertise by collaborating with established directors such as Tomi Janežič, Tomaž Pandur and Jernej Lorenci, which has given him a comprehensive insight into various theatrical practices and performing strategies. His work skilfully combines elements of dance, improvisation, contemporary puppetry, magic, performance and visual art. His performances Somewhere Else and Still Life, produced by the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, have won him numerous national and international awards.
