The performance will take place on the streets of Pilsen from 15 to 17 September 2022 as a multi-day clown-activist intervention in public space in the form of open office hours, small group walks and a final performative ritual. Registration is required for the walk due to limited capacity.

Open office hours – on 15 and 16 September between 2.00 and 4.00 p.m. at the trolleybus stop U Práce. During the open office hours, Atlas welcomes passers-by in its improvised office by the dustbin and invites them to talk, play or draw about environmental and social topics.

Guided walks – on 15 and 16 September from 5.30 p.m. and on 17 September from 11.00 a.m. The approximately 90-minute walk starts at the trolleybus stop U Práce. Reservations are required by email at [email protected]. The group size is limited to 10 participants.

Final performative ritual – on 17 September at 5.00 p.m. at the statue of Josef Kajetán Tyl by the Grand Theatre.

Reservations for the 45-minute final ritual are not required, admission is free.

ATLAS is a subversive chameleon. He is a multipolar clown with a thousand noses. Atlas has an insatiable need for communication and contact with other people with whom he seeks opportunities for uncontrolled dialogue. Atlas is just Atlas, a lost myth looking for a replacement. He is a laggard clown searching for meaning in a crowded world.

FLORENT GOLFIER He is a French performer and transformer who was born in Nancy, France, where he first studied drama acting and later attended the Clown, Stage and Film Production Studio at JAMU in Brno, where he began to focus on physical theatre and modern dance. In addition to his solo performance Umbilicus (2014), he has been collaborating with Lukáš Karásek since 2013. Together they created the productions Tešlon & Frkl, Les Fantômes and Pierer, which are performed in Czech theatres and abroad. He also appeared as a performer in productions such as Pisum Sativum (Karine Ponties, 2012), Anatomy of the Body in Dance (Carlo Locatelli 2014), Out of Order (Vít Nezval, 2015), ‘12’ (Kitt Johnson, 2015) and in tYhle’s production of Un (Marie Gourdain, 2016).

TYHLE is a Czech-French collective of Generation Y artists working predominantly in the Czech Republic. tYhle is a platform for expression through performance, dance, physical theatre and visual arts, essentially composed of four artists who share a similar view of contemporary art, specifically that it is essential to experiment and eliminate barriers. The collective was founded in 2015 in Brno by actors and dancers Lukáš Karásek and Florent Golfier, who met during their studies. They were later joined by lighting designer Zuzana Režná and set designer / choreographer Marie Gourdain. The ensemble’s name is inspired by Generation Y. For us, the letter Y and its graphic form convey the intersection of different lines, directions, inspirations, providing the space where we meet and create.
