CROWS
ONE FOR SORROW, TWO FOR JOY
THREE FOR MIRTH, FOUR FOR BIRTH,
FIVE FOR SILVER, SIX FOR GOLD,
SEVEN FOR A SECRET NEVER TO BE TOLD,
EIGHT FOR HEAVEN, NINE FOR HELL
TEN FOR THE DEVIL, HIS OWN SELF.

They live with us, just as they occupy their habitats in forests far from humans. Their colour, hunched posture and love of carcasses made them a symbol of death. But they are also a symbol of birth. Crows as bearers of dreams and secrets.

Physical performance with live music and a single object.

HOLEKTIV The ensemble was officially founded in 2016, when Andrea Benková (née Vykysalá), Eva Stará and Karolína Křížková joined in their common desire to create and to establish a purely female Czech ensemble, as reflected in the name ‘Holektiv’ – meaning a collective of girls/women in Czech. The ensemble combines the genre of physical theatre, dance and new circus. Over the course of the years the ensemble has managed to create a unique style and poetics. Holektiv is active on the Czech and international scene and, in addition to choreographic and performing activity, it also engages in teaching dance and new circus.
