RADIOMATON Create your own truth for free! Sit comfortably in the RADIOMATON cabin, listen to the live radio broadcast, repeat the words out loud, and imitate the gestures you see on the screen. Let RADIOMATON mix the movements and words into a kaleidoscope where all meanings intertwine.

RADIOMATON, a sensory and immersive experience, shatters the concept of truth and ventures into the topics of media contamination, fake news and the role of the body in the perception of information.

MARIE BÉLAND graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in contemporary dance creation. She then founded her company, MARIBÉ-SORS DE CE CORPS, to support her choreographic work. At the same time creator, project leader and collaborator, she began her trajectory by researching a singular gestural signature. This approach was quickly replaced by the creation of experimental and performative works, with the intention of questioning the fabrication of performance, the commonplace reflexes in dance creation and the artifices of the stage. At the dawn of the 2010s, she opened a new chapter in her work by paying close attention to the choreography produced by our bodies in the process of speaking, a state she describes as “body-speak”. Her practice has led her to collaborate with some of Montreal’s leading performers, including Anne Thériault, Marilyne St-Sauveur, Simon-Xavier Lefebvre, Rachel Harris, Peter Trosztmer, Andrew Turner, to name but a few. She also collaborated on theatrical, musical and multidisciplinary productions.

SIMON LAROCHE Artist, teacher, and interaction designer, Simon Laroche creates installations, audio and video performances, robotic and body artworks. He casts a critical point of view on the hybridization and development of various biological, artificial, and social systems. Co-founder of the art collective, Projet EVA, he creates critical, experimental, and transgressive artworks that focus on problematics related to relationships between individuals, computer systems, and their physical extensions. Simon Laroche teaches Electronic Arts at Concordia University in Montreal and collaborates on theatre, fashion design, dance, and cinema productions. His installations, performances and collaborative works have been presented in Asia, Europe, South and North America and in the Middle East.

KATHY CASEY Artistic Director of Montréal Danse Kathy Casey works as a dramaturge with choreographers who are rethinking, redefining and reworking what is dance, since 1996. Through a process of deep questioning of performance and the body, she encourages bold ideas and discovering ways to express them and give them form. She also organises and facilitates an annual choreographic research workshop, runs research labs and facilitates or co-facilitates dance and interdisciplinary dramaturgy workshops. In addition to her responsibilities with Montréal Danse, Kathy Casey works as an artistic advisor for several independent choreographers in Montreal.
